2. Communication and Support

We communicate with individuals in ways that take their accessibility needs into account.
This includes:

  • Offering materials and information in accessible formats upon request

  • Providing verbal guidance during in-person sessions to support movement or meditation practices

  • Ensuring all online and in-person experiences are welcoming, inclusive, and sensory-sensitive

If you require accommodations before or during a session, please contact us in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements.

3. Assistive Devices and Service Animals

Clients are welcome to use their own assistive devices while accessing our services.
Service animals and support persons are always welcome in our spaces, both indoor and outdoor.

4. Training and Awareness

We continually learn and adapt to ensure accessibility is woven into the way we design and deliver programs. Training and education are ongoing as part of our professional development and commitment to inclusive care.

5. Feedback Process

Your feedback helps us grow and improve accessibility in our services.
If you have comments, questions, or suggestions on how we can serve you better, please reach out to us at groundandgrowsomatics@gmail.com.

All feedback will be reviewed promptly, and where possible, we’ll respond or take appropriate action within a reasonable timeframe.

6. Modifications to This Policy

Testimonials

Singing Bowl Usage

Program Manager, Somatic Healing Session, North York Women's Centre (NYWC)

Our staff and community members loved Anika’s session! She guided us through gentle, grounding movement and dance that brought laughter, connection, and a sense of peace. We can’t wait to have her back for more programs.

Singing Bowl Usage

Program Coordinator, Wellness and Allyship Workshop, Government of Ontario

Anika delivered two workshops to an audience of emerging and current leaders. In this virtual setting, Anika created a safe and open space for reflection. Anika also invited participants to take action and commit to change through the use of different techniques, including breakout rooms, which allowed participants to freely express themselves, and contribute in a comfortable setting.  Through a powerful self-actualization exercise, participants were encouraged to “show up for themselves” by repeating a series of affirmations. This part of the workshop was a thoughtful way to provide inspiration, motivation, and confidence in being able to be an ally to the self and to others. It was an absolute pleasure working with Anika. She was kind, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable when it came to facilitating difficult conversations that challenge the hearts and minds of attendees. We look forward to working with Anika again on future leadership programming.

Class Participant, Somatic Bellydance Session, The Neighbourhood Organization (TNO)

Anika’s somatic bellydance sessions are a breath of fresh air. Every class leaves us feeling more connected to our bodies, to each other, and to joy. It’s movement, mindfulness, and empowerment all in one
